Drain Art

I was at assembly, the teachers were talking to Wainui Beach School about discovery. They said there is a new activity for discovery, drain art. I was delighted that there was more art in discovery. Koka Rachel and Koka Joe had a big talk about what drain art is about. Drain art is a piece of art with a little message to tell people not to drop junk down the drains. I thought this was a great idea. If you see rain water drains you probably wouldn't think it is a rainwater drain, you would think it is a place to put your junk.

We got a scrap piece of paper and did our draft on there. My design was the sea and poking out of the sea was a whale tail, there is a little message at the top that says don't be mean keep it clean in cursive writing and a sunset as the background. I worked by my friends Kayla, Lola and Kale'a. I kept second guessing myself by going, is this the best idea is this a bad idea is this a good idea.

I checked my design with Koka Rachel. She gave me a piece of paper to write about how it will get people to not drop junk in rain water drains. She photo copied my art gave me one and took a picture of the other and sent that to the people. I went outside to do another activity because I finished my art. I was looking forward to a nice day at school and a delightful weekend.
